Lviv is Ukraine's second IT city and arguably its first by density. The Lviv IT Cluster is an unusually organised industry body that runs its own university programmes and lobbies the city directly; the Diia City tax and labour regime applies here as everywhere.

Unbroken / Lviv First Medical Union, a large prosthetics and reconstructive surgery cluster
The national centre for war rehabilitation, prosthetics and reconstructive surgery, with substantial international clinical partnership. A genuine speciality, not a wartime improvisation.

Freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehousing along the Polish corridor
With airspace closed and 70 km to the EU, Lviv is where a great deal of Ukraine's inbound goods, humanitarian cargo and equipment is handled. Unglamorous, large, and hiring.

Three serious institutions in one small city. UCU in particular runs English-language programmes and is the country's most internationally connected private university.

A hospitality sector that was built for a pre-war tourist economy and adapted to a domestic one. !FEST's themed restaurants are a genuine local export model, and the coffee scene is the best in the country.

Publishing houses, the Lviv Book Forum, design and animation studios
Ukraine's publishing capital, and the home of its biggest literary festival. Small but disproportionately influential, and a real employer for editors, translators and designers.
